Student Highlight of the Week: Emily Morrison
This week’s student highlight is Emily Morrison. Emily received the highest score on the ACT in Mountain Crest High School with an incredible score of 35!
What did you do to get such a high score?
“I practiced practiced practiced!”“If you are looking forward to getting a high score on the ACT your best option is to practice. This can include asking teachers for extra help, taking extra practice tests and working hard to understand the material.”
What are some things that students can do to prepare for the ACT?
“Practicing testing skills is a good way to prepare, especially if you don’t understand the standard material you receive in your regular classes.” “ The more practice you do the better you get.” “Once you’ve got the content down you can start to work on time management skills so you can manage your practicing time without getting stressed.”
What colleges have you applied to or what colleges do you hope to apply to?
“I’ve applied to three colleges and have been accepted to all three. USU, SUU, and Dixie. I would really only like to go to USU out of those options. I also plan on applying to Arizona State University, Vanderbilt University, Pennsylvania State University, and Yale university. I don’t really know where I want to go yet though.”
What’s your favorite subject in school?
“I love doing math. It’s my favorite!”
