A Glimpse into my Homecoming Royalty Experience

For those who don’t know me, my name is Hunter Pugmire, and I am writing this because I was asked to give my experience and a little glimpse into behind the scenes of being a Mountain Crest Homecoming royalty.

On Monday I was super surprised that I even made it into the final voting, yet alone being voted high enough into the 1st Attendant. Luckily I wasn’t alone, everyone else who was voted also were surprised to win.

Funny enough, the only reason how I got in the voting was that it started as a joke in my flex class to vote for me for homecoming royalty.

Homecoming Royalty- King & Queen: Judson Wells & Niamh Reilly, 1st Attendants: Hunter Pugmire & Paige Larson, 2nd Attendants: Dontay McMurtrey & Taysia Luke.

Somehow that joke managed to get as far as it did from that. It was super cool having the crowns presented to us during the assembly on Monday in front of the school.

Later that week on Wednesday before the parade we all met across from Ridley’s in the parking lot by the rodeo grounds in Hyrum. The only thing that I was kind of stressed about was being presented during the football game at halftime. I didn’t want to walk on the football field in front of everybody. But when the time came to go on the field, it actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

The best part I would say about my experience as homecoming royalty was definitely the dance. The DJ there was cool and I had a great time partying at the dance with my group and the other members of the homecoming royalty and am so grateful for this experience.

I overall had an awesome time being a member of the Mountain Crest homecoming royalty for this year and would highly recommend looking forward to it for your senior year and to try to be apart of it if you are interested.
