Halloween Traditions

What is your favorite Halloween tradition?

We asked this question to a few students and teachers at Mountain Crest. Many loved the haunted hall Mountain Crest does every year. But one of the students, Julius(Jr), is from Germany and this will be his first Halloween here in the states. He said Germany celebrates Halloween just not as big. He’s not super excited for Halloween but he is excited to try a caramel apple for the first time!

Mr. Stevenson loved going to the mini golf course in Providence with his kids every year before they closed it down. He loved how they decorate it and would have hot chocolate. Despite the high schoolers who think it’s not mature or it’s childlike to go trick or treating, there        Picture above Jack Dixon(10th) on his way to Halloween party          are many high schoolers who still trick or treat.

Many high schoolers have limited it to just going around to family members’ houses, rather than the traditional go get as much candy as possible.  One of my personal favorites is going to different family members’ houses and not just trick or treating but visiting with the family and seeing everyone dressed up.

Brandon Bates(Jr) loves when he and his friends all get together and hop on a little trailer pulled by a four wheeler and drive around town. When they get off to go and trick or treat, someone driving the four wheeler will race to the top of the street, or drive down  the middle while the guys on the trailer all try to hit every house and make it back to the trailer. It’s only a short amount of time before they can cover the whole town then go and party.
