State Volleyball
Girls’ volleyball takes on state playoffs as 9th in the Utah 4A division. Starting a little rough Friday morning, the mustangs play Snow Canyon. The girls started that game well, winning their first match 25-22. Then going downhill from there, the girls lost the next three matches.
Senior Kylee Atkinson, leading the team in serving aces says, “We struggled to come together when we were down and focus on our own success instead of the other team beating us.”
Heading to the consolation bracket, the mustangs bounce back. Starting bright and early, the mustangs face Pine View. Only losing the 2nd match, the mustangs take the win 3-1.
Continuing through the tournament, the girls face Dixie. Sweeping them off their feet, the mustangs beat Dixie 3-0 and finished 6th at state.
State may have not ended the way that anyone had wanted but these girls remember the great season that they had making memories and new friends. Kylee expressed, “My favorite part of the season was getting to know the new freshman.”
