For the 2022-2023 school year, the kind-hearted Annie Morgan was chosen to be the cheer captain. 

When auditioning for the spot as the cheer captain, Annie had gone against a few other girls for the spot. She was very nervous at first because all she ever wanted to do was bring positivity and motivation to her fellow cheerleaders. Luckily for Annie, her uplifting heart and constant hard work lead her to gain the spot. When asked how she felt when she was made cheer captain, Annie said” I was so overly excited for this new year and being able to lead this new team and get to know all of the girls”.

As the Mountain Crest cheer captain, Annie has the responsibilities of leading the team whenever a coach can’t, and being the main role model to all her fellow cheerleaders. Annie stated, ”  love being able to lead these girls to be the best they can be. I enjoy making sure everyone is having the best experience possible.”

Annie has been  a part of the Cheer team since her sophomore year. Growing up, She did many gymnastics classes that were very helpful to shaping her into the amazing cheerleader she is today. When she first started high school, her older sister was on the team, Annie stated” I always just wanted to try out something new that i loved watching my sister doing”  That played a big part in her decision to start the cheer team. Annie says how trying out her first year was the best decision she ever made. Cheer has brought her so many good friendships and taught her many lessons. 

Annie has a very strong attachment and love for cheer and is very sad at the thought of leaving it behind after she graduates. She stated,” I’ve made so many friends these years and I love all my coaches,  not having them around everyday is going to make graduating very sad for me.”
