Kolton Kirby was a phenomenal football player, playing corner and wide receiver, Kolton’s journey with football was one that couldn’t be replaced.

The extremely talented Kolton Kirby describes his expectations coming into his senior year as “Extremely high, I felt that the team we had built had a different bond than other teams in the past. We just had such a strong work ethic during the off-season and it carried into the games.”  He quotes his favorite part of playing for Mountain Crest with ” Wow let me think, the atmosphere of the games was something that I will never forget. The student section and the post game parties were definitely something I will miss about playing football at MC.”

Kolton became close with so many new people and made a great amount of friends through football , he points out one friend in specific that motivated him to want to start playing in the first place. ” I have to give a shout out to my lifelong buddy Carson Olsen! He is definitely the reason I even gave football a shot, but it is definitely an addicting sport. Something about putting the person in the other jersey on their butt and not getting in trouble for it just grabbed my attention.”

Kolton’s legacy with football will never be  forgotten. It is the thing that brought him the most happiness. “Football is definitely something that has been hard to let go. Some people say “Oh it’s just a game”, but it really was all I had for a long time and it did a lot for me . When something shapes you in such a good way it really can’t just be forgotten .”
