Break a leg: McKenrie Vellinga
McKenrie Vellinga is a sophomore here at Mountain Crest. She has always enjoyed theater as a hobby. She is also a very outgoing person and loves everything related to holidays. I asked McKenrie how she celebrates some of the holidays and she replied, “Our house looks like and smells like the North Pole around Christmastime, expect the best firework show for the Fourth of July, and around Halloween, you can find me at every haunted house within the area.”
McKenrie has been passionate about theater since she was a little kid. She’s been pursuing it as much as she can. She dedicates her entire life to theater; performing has always been one of her favorite activities. She has been doing theatre since fifth grade and is still in the theater club at MCHS.
I asked McKenrie what have been some of the best parts of theater were and she responded, ” The best parts of theater for me are that you can meet incredible people, get plenty of opportunities to learn and grow, and there is just something magical about pouring your heart out onstage under the spotlight.”
