2018 Summarized
2018 sucked and I’m glad it’s almost over. However, for those of you that need to be reminded of how terrible this year was, Let’s review:
Celebrities:
-Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson started dating and three weeks later they got engaged (they split up recently).
-Speaking of Ariana, she reached the Billboard 100 with her song “Thank You, Next” (that song is a bop!).
-Anna Faris and Chris Pratt got divorced.
-Like, last week Chris Pratt announced his new relationship with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter?
-Cardi B and her (now ex) husband, Offset, got a divorce after he was caught cheating.
-Cardi B, Kylie Jenner, and Colleen Ballinger had babies.
– Cardi B had a fight with Nicki Minaj.
-Drake was revealed to have a kid.
-Shane Dawson produced three different documentaries on problematic people.
-Kanye was revealed to support Trump.
-Chris Evan’s Marvel contract has been completed and I don’t think he’s renewing it. I guess we’re getting a new Captain America.
Music/Movies:
-Twenty-One Pilots came out of their year-long hiatus, with the release of Trench (stream it on iTunes, my dudes).
-Marvel decided it was ok to do what they did in Infinity War and I’m still salty about it.
–The Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel trailers were released.
–A Star Is Born was released and the entire world loved it.
–Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was released and has been nominated for several awards.
Online:
-Emma Chamberlain made her debut over the summer, bringing in the latest trends such as Teddy Jackets, Tiny Sunglasses, Rex Orange County, and Carmex (?).
-Other (ahem*Better*ahem) YouTubers made their way to our screens as well, such as Joana Ceddia and Antonio Garza.
-Shane Dawson came out with “The Mind of Jake Paul” then promptly took a huge break.
-The Pewdiepie vs. T series fiasco (Pewdiepie should still win tbh–T-series is a company so it wouldn’t be fair).
-A lot of people from the Beauty Community on YouTube had their past faults uncovered.
World News:
*There were many unfortunate shootings, hate crimes, and bombings. It’s extremely sad that there’re too many to fit in this document. My heart goes out to those who have sadly passed on during these crimes, and those who continue to share their stories and fight for what is right.*
-Many victims of sexual assault came out and brought awareness to the issue.
-Net neutrality got taken away.
-California caught on fire many times.
-Space X sent a Tesla into space.
-Article 13 was taken away in Europe.
